The Academic FinTech Project (AFTP) conducts rigorous, data-driven research on financial technology, banking, and financial markets. Our mission is to support high-quality academic research by assembling and analyzing comprehensive public and proprietary data, with the objective of advancing understanding of innovation, risk, and regulation in the FinTech ecosystem. We collaborate with academic researchers, financial institutions, and industry participants to facilitate research suitable for publication in peer-reviewed finance and economics journals.

Founder and Managing Director, Academic FinTech Project
I am a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Finance at The College of New Jersey. I hold a PhD in Finance from Rutgers University, an MA in Economics from Vanderbilt University, and a Bachelor of Arts and Science with double majors in Applied Mathematics and Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).Ā
My research focuses on banking, financial regulation, and FinTech, with particular emphasis on financial institutions, regulatory frameworks, and the risk and performance implications of financial innovation. I have taught courses in business, finance, and economics at Columbia University, as well as Foundations of FinTech at Sacred Heart University.Ā
At the Academic FinTech Project (AFTP), I lead research initiatives focused on data construction, empirical analysis, and collaboration between academia and industry participants to support policy-relevant academic research.

I am an Assistant Professor of Economics at The College of New Jersey and a Visiting Scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. I hold a PhD in Economics and a BA in Mathematics from Rutgers University.Ā
My research spans financial economics, banking, FinTech, and asset markets, with a focus on the interaction between financial institutions and market structure. My work has been presented at leading academic institutions, including Princeton University and the London School of Economics. I am interested in bridging academic research and policy-relevant financial analysis.
PhD candidate in Finance, University of Tennessee
I am a PhD candidate in Finance at the University of Tennesseeās Haslam College of Business. I hold an MS in Computational Finance from the Rochester Institute of Technology.Ā
My research interests include blockchain economics, cryptocurrencies, decentralized finance, and financial innovation. My work examines topics such as undercollateralized lending, shareholder defaults in DeFi, and consensus mechanisms. I have presented at conferences including AFA, EFA, FMA, SFA, and the UC Berkeley Crypto Economics Security Conference, and I have served as a referee for academic journals in finance and accounting.
